UME Configuration Settings

Those who have worked on the portal < 7.0, must have seen the below screen

For those who are new, this can be navigated from the path System Admin > System Config > UME Configuration. This page is mainly used to edit the password related security settings or edit the UME settings from the 'Direct Editing' tab. These settings can also be handled from Visual admin or Config tool.

In this blog, I am trying to show the way through portal.

Recently, we upgraded from portal 6.4 to 7.02 and I could not find this same screen at the above specified path. Instead, there were few other options and the one for Direct editing was missing.

I did edit the settings via Visual Admin tool, but since it involved another team (in my case), I did not like the idea of using VA for this task. Then I found the same page at different location, which I want to share on the forum via this blog.

Here is the navigation path

Content Admin > Portal Content > Content Provided by SAP > Admin Interfaces > Admin iView Templates > UM Configuration

Open this object, preview it and you will see the same old page as was there in your old portal. Do the required changes. Save the settings and restart the server to bring your settings into effect.
