SAP PI 7.1 Performance Monitoring

This blog describes about different types of report generation using performance monitor that must be carried out to support a PI system.
 
  • Explain the performance monitoring usage and comparison of various performance parameters.
  • PI Overall Performance Report
  • PI Interface Based Performance Report

Performance Monitor:
 
 
Monitor the performance of message processing on the Advanced Adapter Engine by inspecting the amount of processed data over various periods of time and the message processing time at individual adapter modules.
 
 
Why do we need PI performance monitoring Report?
 
  • To compare real time and past messages.
  • To compare number of messages processed per day, size of each message, status, processing time, frequency, rate
  • Extract data using several methods like Interface, components, time interval
  • Consolidated and Detailed reporting
 
Procedure:
 
  • Login to the RWB with your PI User ID
  • Click the Performance Monitoring. The following screen will appear

  • Select a time interval
 
To Extract Daily Report :
 
  • From Data source option >> Check the Radio buttion IS
  • Select component name from the list box
  • Time Interval >> Today
  • Aggregation Interval >> 15 minutes

To Extract Weekly Report :
 
  • From Data source option >> Check the Radio buttion IS
  • Select component name from the list box
  • Time Interval >> Week
  • Aggregation Interval >> 1 Day

To Extract Monthly Report :
 
  • From Data source option >> Check the Radio buttion IS
  • Select component name from the list box
  • Time Interval >> Month
  • Aggregation Interval >> 1 Day

To Extract Monthly Report Interface Wise :
 
  • From Data source option >> Check the Radio buttion IS
  • Select component name from the list box
  • Time Interval >> Month
  • Aggregation Interval >> 1 Day
  • Display Options : Component & Interface boxes checked

PI Interface Based Performance Report: (Sender Side)
 
  • From Data Source option >> Check the Radio buttion IS
  • Select component name from the list box
  • Time Interval >> Month
  • Aggregation Interval >> 1 Day
  • Display Options : Component & Interface boxes checked
  • Click Extended Search Tab
  • Sender Interface : Select Sender Interface Name from the list box

PI Interface Based Performance Report: (Receiver Side)
 
  • From Data source option >> Check the Radio buttion IS
  • Select component name from the list box
  • Time Interval >> Month
  • Aggregation Interval >> 1 Day
  • Display Options : Component & Interface boxes checked
  • Click Extended Search Tab
  • Receiver Interface : Select Receiver Interface Name from the list box
