DIR_PUT is configured to the upgrade directory to access the logs during the system upgrade.
Customer should configure this if they would want to raise a message with SAP SUPPORT.
The SAP SUPPORT access the log files from here to check in which phase the upgrade process was terminated. It is always recommended to have DIR_PUT configured to the upgrade directory during the start of any upgrades.
HOW TO CONFIGURE DIR_PUT:
- Login to the SAP system.
- The profile parameter DIR_PUT has to be set in the Default profile. You can view the parameter value using RZ11.
Example:
Default Value: DIR_PUT= /usr/sap/<SID>/upg/abap (on UNIX)
\usr\sap\<SID>\upg\abap (on Microsoft Windows)

- Login to SAP system and go to transaction AL11.
- Click on CONFIGURE button.
3. Once you click on configure button then you get the following screen:
Fill in the entries as shown above.
EXAMPLE:
Z_SUM -> /usr/sap/SUM/abap).
